Petchem Frontline Fund

The Center for International Environmental Law is honored to offer Rapid Response Funds to support groups and organizations fighting the petrochemical buildout and infrastructure in the United States. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, in either English or Spanish. We are honored to be supported in getting these funds to the frontline by an advisory group of representatives from frontline communities in the Gulf South and Appalachia, including partner organizations the Center for Coalfield Justice (PA), Fenceline Watch (TX), and the Taproot Earth (LA) and WV Sierra Club.

This fund will provide small dollar infusions of monetary support to enable frontline groups organizing to stop the petrochemical buildout across the United States to act quickly on low-cost, time-sensitive and strategic opportunities. Activities supported will:
1) Be focused on a key part of the petrochemical supply chain, including oil, gas, plastics, and chemicals production or transportation;
2) Be strategically aligned with wider movement frameworks around keeping it in the ground, breaking free from plastic, and stopping the money pipeline;
3) Need immediate resources for action, support, or materials on a quick timeline.

Timeline: Requests for funds are accepted on a rolling basis and decisions will be made on each request within three (3) weeks of receipt of the application. More urgent needs will be accommodated on an exceptional basis, upon specific request.
