Dr. Bernice V. Campbell

Bernice V. Campbell, PhD was born in Richmond, Virginia. She grew up in both Richmond and Rocky Mount, NC where she graduated from Northern Nash High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in Education degrees from North Carolina State University and Wake Forest University, respectively. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree from North Carolina State University in Educational Research and Policy Analysis.

Dr. Campbell taught high school mathematics in North Carolina and Georgia, as well as mathematics and research methods in various community and two-year colleges. As an advocate for STEM education and careers she taught at Duke TIP and NCSU’s Upward Bound Program and coordinated programs for NC-MSEN Pre-College Program and Wake County Public School’s Future Scholar’s Program. After transitioning to higher education, Dr. Campbell provided institutional effectiveness and university assessment for Durham Technical Community College and Shaw University. Dr. Campbell began working in program evaluation while employed as a Project Lead with Edstar, Inc. a private firm in Raleigh, NC evaluating educational and social programs. Since 2005, she has evaluated local, state, federal-funded grant programs for public school systems, colleges and universities, state government, and non-profits. April 6, 2022, she joins The Chisholm Legacy Project as Systems and Evaluation Director.

Dr. Campbell resides in Murrells Inlet, SC with her two long-haired Chihuahuas, Harper and Harlowe. She is a member of Total Care Services Board of Directors in Maryland. Her is passion is helping others realize their dreams by linking them to services and information to advance their learning.
