Narrative Strategy Director

Anastasia (she/her) is a social justice communicator with nearly two decades of experience in storytelling, public relations, media engagement and digital. She has led communications for organizations working towards Black liberation, returning citizens’ rights and dismantling an oppressive criminal legal system.

She has a background in media and government, having worked for Gannett, Raycom Media and the State of Louisiana, as well as extensive nonprofit communications experience. Her communications strategies have helped social justice organizations raise over $25 million, go viral online and, most importantly, improve their communities.

Anastasia believes that the people closest to the issues are most equipped to develop the solutions. She also maintains that storytelling and narrative building have the power to create change, whether bringing us closer together, causing us to act or contributing to our self-discovery. She is an award-winning journalist and regularly contributes to community publications across the country.

Anastasia is a proud, two-time HBCU graduate and advocate, receiving her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Clark Atlanta University and her master’s degree in public relations from Southern University and A&M College.
