E.R.A.S.E. Project

NLIHC has been tracking the passage of tenant protections in jurisdictions across the country. In January 2022, the ERASE team released a report on its findings, Tenant Protections and Emergency Rental Assistant during and beyond the COVID-19 Pandemic. The team also created the two digital resources featured on this page: a State and Local Tenant Protections Map and a corresponding database. The resources compile and present easy-to-access information about tenant protections around the country to inform the advocacy efforts of local, state, and federal housing champions.
