Better Ground
Better Ground is a collective movement across Puget Sound by twelve western Washington conservation districts, also known as the “Puget Sound Conservation Districts” (PSCD).
These twelve districts play a critical role in addressing natural resource needs with a coordinated approach that stretches from watershed planning to implementing green infrastructure across the broad mosaic of private lands. This collaboration on private property complements, augments, and protects the critical progress made on public lands.

CNIDARIAN IMMUNITY LABORATORY
We are a collective of integrative biologists conducting world-class discovery research on the innate immune system in corals, sea anemones, and (the non-cnidarian) ctenophores. We investigate disease processes, environmental stress, symbiosis, wound healing, regeneration, and cellular mechanisms of immunity with…
Colour polymorphism and protective coloration in coconut crabs
Phenotypic colour polymorphisms are common in nature but their adaptive significance is often difficult to interpret. Terrestrial coconut crabs Birgus latro have cohabiting distinct red and blue colour morphs and earlier research suggested that red morphs are more cryptic in…
Comparative population genomics and biophysical modeling of shrimp migration in the Gulf of Mexico reveals current-mediated connectivity
The Gulf of Mexico experiences frequent perturbations, both natural and anthropogenic. To better understand the impacts of these events, we must inventory natural variability within the ecosystem, communities, species, and populations, and contextualize these findings in relation to physical features….
