Leading With Legacy | Issue 01
Hey Legacy-Honoring Fam!
Welcome to your weekly dose of inspiration, updates, and community highlights from The Chisholm Legacy Project! We’re thrilled to have you with us on this transformative journey towards a just and equitable future for Black communities at the forefront of the climate justice movement.
🔦 In the Spotlight 🔦
The Resource Hub for Black Climate Justice Leadership
Have you seen our Resource Hub? If you haven’t, step into the forefront of change where combating the extractive economy goes hand-in-hand with our relentless pursuit of racial and social justice! We’re excited to reintroduce our Resource Hub, an online platform that equips leaders and communities with a carefully selected collection of resources. Here are just a few examples of the resources available:
Fund for Frontline Power
”Frontline-led climate solutions cool the planet and lead us to local, living, regenerative economies. They are replicable, scalable, sustainable, just, available to us now, and ready for investment.”
Environmental Justice Atlas
“The Global Environmental Justice Atlas (EJAtlas) documents and catalogues social conflicts around environmental issues. It is an online interactive platform coordinated and managed by a team of researchers and activists. The content and data are the result of the work of hundreds of collaborators across the world who tell their own stories of resistance or write about what they witness.”
Movement Generation Justice & Ecology Project
”At Movement Generation Justice and Ecology Project, our work is rooted in the belief that by bringing ourselves into right relationship with seeds, soil, each other and the ecosystems that hold us, we can create a better way forward.”
🌱 Rising Together 🌱
In Rising Together, we’re celebrating and uplifting organizations and community groups we’re proud to work alongside of on our journey towards Black Liberation, Just Transition, and climate justice!
Grow Dat Youth Farm
The mission of Grow Dat Youth Farm is to nurture a diverse group of young leaders through the meaningful work of growing food.
At Grow Dat, people from different backgrounds come together to create a more just and sustainable food system. On our farm, we work collaboratively to grow food; educate and inspire youth and adults; and build power to create personal, social, and environmental change.
🎧 Rhythm & Reads 📚
Rhythm & Reads is your go-to section, where culture meets the cause in a small curated selection of sounds, stories, and insights that inspire our shared mission towards Black Liberation, Environmental & Climate Justice, Gender Justice, and a Just Transition. Each week, we’ll handpick a mix of music, podcasts, books, and articles that enlighten and empower us to drive systemic change.
